Formaldehyde (systematic name methanal) is a naturally occurring organic compound with the formula CH2O (H−CHO). The pure compound is a colourless gas that polymerises spontaneously (see Formaldehyde#Forms). Formaldehyde 37% Liquid Tech (12-15% Methanol) is a colorless, strong-smelling solution used in various industrial applications such as in the production of resins, plastics, and textiles. It is also used as a disinfectant and preservative in medical laboratories and mortuaries. Additionally, it is used in the manufacture of fertilizers, paper products, and as a fuel additive. Its high reactivity and versatility make it a valuable chemical in many industries. However, it should be handled with care due to its potential health hazards.
